Have you ever wondered how many hidden specimens lie in the storage of the San Diego Natural History Museum? Wonder no more as they unpack, unshelve, and share the 8 million specimens they have collected over the last 143 years in their newest exhibit, "Unshelved: Cool Stuff from Storage."

Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour designed for San Diego EMP members guided by Bradley Tsalyuk, Exhibits Project Manager, and Michael Field, Director of Experience Design. They will share their experiences with taking on this large-scale project along with the challenges and successes of making this exhibit come to life.

Bradley Tsalyuk - Exhibits Project Manager
Bradley Tsalyuk is an emerging museum professional who utilizes his background as an artist to connect art, science, and natural history. He joined the San Diego Natural History Museum as the Public Programs Project Coordinator in 2015, and now holds the position of Exhibits Project Manager. As Project Manager, he collaborates with colleagues within the exhibits department and across the institution to conceptualize, develop, and construct permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Michael Field - Director of Experience Design
Michael Field has been designing, fabricating and evaluating museum exhibitions in Balboa Park for 33 years. He has been involved in the planning and creation of hundreds of exhibitions and several historic building restoration and modernization projects with an emphasis on sustainability. His lifelong passion for art, history and science help him translate ideas into engaging experiences for visitors of all types. He is currently the Director of Experience Design at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
